More Worries on the Radar?
ok after watching Katrina reaping havoc on the radar without really knowing what the color scheme means I'm now worried again by looking at the recent images from the Tennessee area. Besides having a billowed or burst-like shape as opposed to a twisting shape they bear striking resemblance to Hurricane Katrina.
Any ideas how to read these?
UPDATE: The dbZ rating is the decibel value of the reflected radar power
as to get these doppler images they shoot radar signals straight in the air the Z is for the axis as in X Y Z
. You can match it loosely to the Homeland Security (or Directive 3) color chart system in its meanings.
The darker the red the more dangerous it is to roam there, if it is pink shit hit the fan!
